QUEER LIBERATION MARCH FOR BLACK LIVES AND AGAINST POLICE BRUTALITY IS ON!

LEGENDARY POET, PERFORMER PAMELA SNEED WILL CO-HOST BROADCAST

MARCH STEPS OFF SUNDAY AT 1PM FROM FOLEY SQUARE — DEMANDS DEFUNDING OF POLICE

New York City, June 26, 2020 — Wearing masks and socially distanced, the 2nd annual Queer Liberation March will join the millions of protestors in the streets all over the United States in marching for an end to the brutalization of Black communities by police and local, state and federal governments.

The Queer Liberation March for Black Lives and Against Police Brutality will gather in Foley Square on Centre St. on Sunday, June 28th and will begin marching at 1pm, supporting the #OccupyCityHall action for NYPD budget cuts, and will make its way north to Washington Square Park. Those who can’t join the March can watch our livestream of the whole event at ReclaimPrideNYC.org from 12:45pm to 4:45pm and on our Facebook, YouTube and Twitter/Periscope outlets.

Beloved poet, actor, teacher and activist Pamela Sneed (link to Pamela Sneed on Wikipedia) will co-host the livestream broadcast, produced by act.tv. Pamela, who spoke powerfully at last year’s Queer Liberation March Rally in Central Park, will bring online viewers into the heart of this year’s March, and will showcase additional videos of interviews and historic material.

The Queer Liberation March wants to be fully accessible. We can offer a number of wheelchairs with pushers (if desired) and we will have ASL interpreters in the March. For more information, email Access@ReclaimPrideNYC.org.

We support the demand for at least a $1 billion cut to the NYPD budget and a reassignment of those funds and much more to housing, healthcare, employment, reparative and transformative justice and other necessities for Black and other people of color communities, particularly for Black trans people.

The Queer Liberation March for Black Lives and Against Police Brutality is proud to be endorsed by G.L.I.T.S. (Gays & Lesbians Living in a Transgender Society), Black Trans Media, VOCAL-NY, Release Aging People in Prison (RAPP), No Justice No Pride, Peoples Power Assemblies, Afro-Socialist Caucus NYC-DSA, Queer Detainee Empowerment Project, Strategy for Black Lives, Black and Pink, FIERCE, Poor People’s Campaign, Physicians for a National Healthcare Plan — NY, Rise & Resist and many more.
